As with the other major cities in Ireland (Cork and Galway), I wasn't as pleased with Dublin. In general I'm not into big cities with lots of traffic and lots of people. I spent the whole rainy day trying to find out how to get to a couple of other places near Dublin. I never did find the tours I was originally looking for, but I did find one of the places I wanted to see, Newgrange (the next stop on the tour) - it just wasn't at the time I had wanted. Anyway, the two pictures I did take of Dublin are of a church that looked nice and a Scottish highland piper playing on the street (strangely, it didn't occur to me later that seeing a Scottish piper in Ireland might be a bit out of place - guess I had just become so used to seeing them in Scotland). This is a beautiful sunset I witnessed on my train ride from Dublin back to Cork. |
