Sasquatch long hair tutorial: Part 1 continued

3) Call up the Array command and do a radial array with number set to around 30 on the Y axis with the center being 0,0,0.

4) You now have the beginnings of your first set of guides. Now you'll start shaping these guides to form the basic shape of the hair. You might want to do a "save as" here so you can go back to this in case you don't like your designing. To start off the designing, I'll deal with the front of the hair. If you decided to have bangs, shorten those guides and shape them. If not, either delete them, or rotate them so they're not in front of the face. Remember to rotate from the root on the Y axis. Also remember to move the roots to the forehead. You don't want your bangs to be coming out of the top of the head!
Just as a hint, you might want to change your perspective view back and forth between shaded and wireframe since shaded view doesn't show the curve's points (but when viewing both the guides and your model in the foreground, shaded is better because it allows you to see the placement of the guides in relation to the scalp). Also, you might want to change the color of your model's skin texture to a dark color so you can better see the guides (since unfortunately you can't change the color of the guides).
